Reflection

We currently find ourselves in a small window of inactivity, or a lull if you will, between the end of the Fall sports season and the beginning of the Winter season. I have had a few days to reflect upon the past few months and the one word I keep coming back to is "Wow!". Our kids were able to achieve some amazing team and individual accomplishments. Here are just a few: 3 SEC White championships (GGolf, BTennis & Football)
1 Regional Championship (GCross Country)
4 state qualifying teams (B & G Cross Country, GSwim & BTennis)
4 All State athletes (Bryce, Dani, Austin and Gabby)
1 state champion (congrats Bryce!)
And several other students who have been or will soon be named to all league and county teams for their athletic AND academic accomplishments.
When you take the time to list some of these accomplishments, you quickly realize how special our kids, coaches and parents are in our community. For in order to earn these accolades, there is a time commitment and balancing act of family life, athletic life and academic life that is sometimes difficult to understand. It is a complex dance for our students, but the support our families and instructional staff are able to offer is awe inspiring. We are a few weeks away from building upon our Fall successes and I for one, am ready to go! Are you?

With Bulldog pride,

Chelsea Girls Basketball Begins 2011-2012 Season

The varsity girls basketball season is under way and the Bulldogs have a wealth of experience
to rely on this year. The Bulldogs will return lots of varsity experience. Last year the Bulldogs won the SEC White Division for the 9th time in the last 12 years and also were crowned District 39 Champions for the 6th time in the same time period.

The 2011-12 schedule looks to be challenging and features five boys and girls varsity doubleheaders.  Head Coach Todd Blomquist will once again lead the varsity Bulldogs while Rourke Skelton returns as the girls JV coach.
