Weekends are made for State Competition

After being fortunate enough to watch our student-athletes participate in the Division 3 Frozen Four at Compuware Arena yesterday, Chelsea Athletics has been following our swimmers at States at Oakland University yesterday and today. They enter today in the top 10 for Division 3. I am so proud of our kid's effort and performance as these experiences at the state level are ones they will keep with them for the rest of their lives. A special thank you goes out to their parents who support and encourage their students as well as our coaches. Our programs would not be successful without your continued support.
Another weekend...another opportunity for success and another reason why it's good to be a bulldog!

Let the post-season begin!

What a week for Bulldog Athletics! The Girls Varsity Basketball Team closed out the regular season with another SEC White title and an 18-2 overall record. They play Onsted on Monday February 27th @ Onsted in District play. This should be an exciting game as the Dogs won the regular season battle between the two teams in a very competitive game.

Our Boys Varsity Swim team hosted the SEC White Divisional meet on Friday 2/24 and Saturday 2/25. They have had a remarkable year that has included numerous individual state cut times as well as a 2nd place finish in the SEC White. The future of the Bulldog Swimmers is bright. Good luck to those individuals who will be competing at the state meet in two weeks.

Our Boys Varsity Bowling team secured the SEC White title last week and had a strong showing at the Regional tournament this past weekend. Hats off to their efforts this year.

Finally, the Boys Varsity Hockey team finished with a perfect 10-0 record in the SEC while securing another SEC White title. They will play the winner of the Dexter v. Lumen Christi game on Thursday March 1 @ 6:30pm at the Arctic Coliseum in Pre-Regional action.

It's hard to believe that Spring practices start on March 12th. Here's to (at least) another two weeks of Winter sports as your Bulldogs look to make some post season noise!

Adam Taylor Hired as Chelsea Varsity Baseball Coach

Adam Taylor has been hired as the new Chelsea varsity head baseball coach replacing Wayne R. Welton who retired after the 2011 season.  Coach Taylor has served in the capacity of a varsity baseball assistant coach from 2000-2011.  He brings with him a wealth of collegiate and professional experience to the position, playing for Ferris State and the University of  New Mexico from 1992-1996.  In 1996, he was selected in the 23rd round of Major League Baseball's Amateur draft by the Cleveland Indians where he played at the AA level for his last two years.  During this time, Coach Taylor volunteered with our baseball program during the off-season.   We look forward to having Coach Taylor continue the baseball excellence here in Chelsea.

Undefeated

As the Winter season rolls along, we have two Varsity programs that remain undefeated: Boys Swimming and Girls Basketball. Coach Jolly and Coach Blomquist already have their kids competing at a high level and poised to make make some noise once district and regional tournaments come around.

Chelsea Athletics is extremely proud of our athletes for their continued pursuit of excellence on the court, in the pool, and on the lanes.

Go Dogs!

Good Weekend to be a Bulldog

Our Bulldog athletes are off to a great start this Winter season.

Boys Swim put in a dominant performance at the SMISL relays at Milan on Saturday December 10 and ended up winning the event.

Varsity Wrestling took seven first place finishes at the Ypsilanti Invite and ended up winning the event as well.

Both Varsity Basketball programs won on Friday to keep their records perfect on the season.

Finally, Varsity Hockey won one game and tied another in Gaylord over the weekend to run their overall record to 5-1-2.

It's a great time to be a Bulldog!!!

Great home opener for the Lady Bulldogs!

The Varsity Girls Basketball team pulled out a hard fought overtime victory against Warren Fitzgerald tonight. No better way to kick-off our home hoops season than winning against a quality non-conference opponent. Even better news? All four hoops teams won tonight!

Bulldog Pride!
